  2. Prepare of chicken broth.

(Another option; you can add about a 1/4 cup of the soup mixture TO the slurry to bring it up to temperature, called tempering, and then add the whole thing to the soup mixture).
  4. Add the frozen peas and carrots, stir, then cover..
  5. FOR DUMPLINGS.
  6. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well with a fork..
  7. Now add the butter and milk and stir until combined..
  8. Remove the cover, and drop dumplings into the boiling soup mixture 1 tablespoon at a time. Using a tablespoon scoop makes this step a lot easier, and creates even dumplings!.
  9. Reduce heat to a simmer, and cover. Cook for 10 minutes, DO NOT OPEN THE LID FOR THE WHOLE TEN MINUTES! After the 10 minutes has passed, uncover, serve and enjoy!.
